Night Hot Flashes

I would only admit this here but I purchased one of those cooling mats with Gel in them. My sleep doctor recommended the cooling gel pillow but instead I bought the mat. It helps tremendously. I also need to put a fan by my bed so I can switch it on if I need to at night. I tried to find a large one but finally bought from the petstore. Yes thats right I bought a 36 by 36 doggy cooling pad. Its a little cold when you first lay down on it. I put it between my sheets and the mattress pad but it helps me sleep

For the daytime I am looking into those cooling towels for athletes. You get them wet and then put them around your neck. I nearly passed out waiting in line for a rollercoaster in the heat. Hot flashes plus 100 degree heat did not mix that day.

hi --i am taking neurontin for neuropathy and it also helps for hot flashes. If you arent taking any meds for hot flashes, maybe ask your doctor about neurontin ? It does make you sleepy in the beginning, but you get adapted to the meds and now it doesnt sedate me at all

Hi there. I take a supplement called Icool which helps with hot flashes and night sweats. Check with doc first though. I also found a fan at bedside table helps. Good luck...
