We just found out about a week and a half ago. So far it's been a whirlwind of tests, doctor visits, and getting a port. We are still waiting on test results to let us know exact location and stage, but we've been told that chemo will be first, followed by a lumpectomy/mastectomy.

I'm trying to educate myself with the little information we have, pending test results. I've been trying to research everything I need to know about chemo and what I can expect. I've been trying to get everything I think she'll need - biotene, port access clothing, anti-nausea candies, blankets, fuzzy socks, probiotics, etc. Is there anything else I might need to know or get? Also, anyone have an opinion on Cold Caps?

I'd appreciate any help or advise. Thank you all so much.

    Dear sophiavero,

We are very sorry to hear about your mom's breast cancer diagnosis but glad that you reached out to our community on her behalf and for yourself. It will be helpful to our members if we know a bit more about your mom's cancer type, chemo regime, etc which you can enter and make public in your profile. It would then appear below your signature. Here is a link to the Forum on chemotherapy with links to some of the tips that you are looking for. We hope that you might also find support among other caregivers in the Caregivers, Families and Friends Forum. Keep us posted on how things go. The Mods
