Question about itching

Hi Everyone,

I hope today is a good day for everyone. I just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience to this: last fall I started to have this weird, itchy rash on my arms only. My onc said it wasn't a drug rash (I had just started Femara), so she sent me to see a dermatologist. The derm and I talked for a while about the treatments that I had and she said the itching was due to neuropathy. I was put on Gabbapentin 300mgs/day and it has gotten somewhat better, but after more than six months the itch persists. Sometimes, mostly at night, I have to slather my arms in hydrocortisone just to get some relief.

I was just curious if anyone else has endured this side effect. I was dx with Stage IV and bone/liver mets in February 2016. The treatments I have had so far have worked great and I really feel good, aside from the itch. I know I should be grateful that I am doing well and had few side effects. I'm really not one to complain, just curious.

Oh well, have a great day everyone. I hope you are all enjoying the summer. It is only 60 degrees here in Boston today...brrr.

Nancy

Good morning nowaldron! I will trade you! We are at 80degrees already and supposed to get to 92 today. Ugh! I am so over summer already!

Regarding itching arms: I started Ibrance Oct 2015 and my scalp has itched and felt really dry ever since. I don't know if it is the Ibrance or the letrozole because I had to go from Faslodax to Letrozole for insurance to approve Ibrance. My mo said that he doesn't know why. But some days I feel like a monkey because I spend all day scratching my head. Stylist has no clue either. I have tried dry scalp, itchy scalp and moisturizing conditioners, all to no avail.

I feel your itching, hope you find relief!

    Hugs and prayers

    Claudia
