I found a small jelly bean like lump on my left breast, went into my gyn she felt it too and found 2 others, she said she didn't think it felt like cancer, but because of my family history ( mom had stage 3 bc in both breasts in 2014, and ovarian cancer just dx with hysterectomy last week, maternal uncle with bc this year, and half sister with dcis 10 years ago, maternal grandfather with stomach, and colorectal cancer) she referred me for a mammogram and ultrasound. I do BSE and never felt these before, but I have lost almost 60lbs in 5 months, so there is less fat around my breasts. My gyn said my breasts are very lumpy and will probably show up dense on the mammogram. When I scheduled the diagnostic mammogram they said they will do that first then determine if I needed an ultrasound

I'm 31yo as well with only one family member with a prior BC dx (maternal aunt) but a slew of other cancers on maternal side. Found a palpable lump in my left breast that gyn also felt and had my diagnostic mammo and ultrasound last week. My results came back "normal", however, there was a very dense area exactly where my lump can be felt and no cysts or other abnormalities were visible on either test so I'm waiting for a secondary followup on Monday for my dr to decide on the next step (wait and see for two months, MRI, or breast specialist). I've since found another lump in my left armpit.

The waiting is the worst of it all. Are you going to a center where you will get answers on the spot

wow sounds like we are in the same boat, I am going to a breast cancer center and my Dr. Said they will tell me right then and there if its normal or of more follow up is needed, I haven't even had the tests yet and the wait is killing me especially with this all happening while my mom is still recovering from her complete hysterectomy last week and relying on me for all of her follow up appointments and radiation all an hour away. I drive school bus so thankfully I am off for the summer, but driving an hour away 3 times a week sometimes more is getting taxing and now this extra stress on top of it all.
