Stage IV De Novo HER2+ NED for over 10 Years?
I have been amazingly lucky with my treatment response and have been NED since completing my first round of chemo and Herceptin over 10 years ago, after having had mets to the liver and bones. I have remained on Herceptin this entire time.
I would love to talk to other women in this situation, especially people who have been on Herceptin this long or longer.
Thank you.

I'm sure you'll get some people similar along soon. I did meet a woman who's son was on my son's basketball team. She has been NED for 6 yrs on Herceptin after a met/ tumor to her lung and spine (both operated on/removed). You'd never know it looking at her though I'm guessing she has a port in her somewhere. She looks trim, active, works and has good hair!

I have been Ned for 6 1/2 years, but I stopped herceptin over 2 years ago and have been on no treatment since then

cnanthia, wow to your 10+ years living with mbc!
It is great to hear of your longevity with this disease, trusting, I hope, that you have good quality of life.I was dx with er+ bc, so I don't do Herceptin. Nevertheless, it is always inspirational to hear of all those who continue to beat the bc thing to the curb for years.
I have been stable with mbc since 2011, you can see my treatments in my signature line. When I applied for service employeee disabilty last year, the appointed oncologist I saw said women with mbc only live three to five years, so I must only have stage two bc and arthritis! Oh, he was a piece of work. I was fortunate that a lawyer took my case and got me benefits after I was denied due to his report.

Love to hear from Oldtimers like you, cnanthia.
I had bone mets, no Herceptin, but had chemo for ER+ BC. It will be 10 years in August for me with mets, NED 9 1/2 years.
Divine, what a piece of work indeed.

I love hearing from those of you who are 5, 6, 8, 10 and more years out from diagnosis! and NED to boot!! I just had my 3 year de novo cancerversary in June. I'm hoping to be around to say it's been 10 years out even if it is not NED. I want to hear from more like you! Gives us all hope!
