Hormone Replacement Therapy (Bio Identical )

Hello!

I would like to ask the group if anyone has done HRT after treatment. I was diagnosed in 2006 at the age of 43. (Stage 1, er-/pr+, HER2 +.) I did chemo/Rads and Herceptin. Double Mastectomy, no reconstruction.

Two months ago, I decided to try Bio Identical Hormone Replacement. Of course my oncologist said no way but I found a OB/GYN that specializes in HRT. He said that there is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding about HRT for breast cancer survivors. I was willing to try anything to get my life back. I wasn't sleeping (taking Ativan for years), gained weight and every other side effect that comes with no hormones!! I have been taking DHEA, estrogen patch, progesterone and testosterone. I started sleeping better the first night!! I have been feeling so much better. More energy etc.. I have been on this program for 2 months. I started spotting after the 1st month and now have been spotting a little every day. My doc ordered an ultrasound for tomorrow. Now I am nervous and wondering if I made a huge mistake starting HRT. Any thoughts? Anyone have an experience like this? I welcome your comments.
