TNBC microinvasive/clear node - chemo or not

Hi, all! I just found this community and am so impressed by the support and shared knowledge you've built.

I was diagnosed with DCIS in May and was told the location and multiple areas of concern meant a mastectomy. After learning it was er and pr negative, I opted for bilateral knowing it would either be TNBC or Her2 positive.

The path report showed two areas of microinvasions of 1mm each that were TNBC and the sentinel node was clear. The MO said if I really wanted to do chemo, I could but he didn't think it was required. The effects/risks of chemo (it would be Cyclophosphamide/Docetaxel- 4 treatments) outweigh the potential for lowered risk. He also said if the microinvasiions were 3-5mm it'd tip the scales in favor of chemo.

So I'm curious if there have been others in this scenario and what was recommended/chosen. A friend recently lost a wife to TNBC, after they told her the risk of recurrence was 1-3%. I realize every case is different but it's made this decision even more difficult. Any experiences would be appreciated. ~Peace and Lov
