Arimidex and yeast infections?

I haven't had a yeast infection in many, many years. I'm 65; menopause at about 55; and as I recall, my last yeast infection was before my periods stopped.

Enter Arimidex (Anastrozole for me) and I have a yeast infection for the last week. The itching is driving me crazy (treated with an antifungal and Vagisil). Web research shows there might be a connection between the arimidex, vaginal atrophy (dryness) and yeast infections.

Besides the antifungal, I'm eating yogurt twice a day, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I've already taken my pill today, but starting tomorrow, I'm going to take another break from the Arimidex (started the first of May and took a week break because of other SE's) and see if I get relief. I might have to give in and try another AI or quit altogether.

Anyone else deal with yeast infections? For the record, I'm low carb...no bread, white flour, potatoes.

Thanks!

EDITED TO ADD: I have no pain with urination. Only the itching.
