Hi

I am new here, my name is Kiki. I had a bilateral prophylactic mastectomy due to severe cancer history in my family. I am one of several women in my family to do this. I am 37 years old and have had a total of 6 or 7 surgery's, due to complications of skin necrosis, bleeding and rejection. Thislast su rgery I had was the latissimus dorsi flap and a tissue expander put in. Through all my sx even the mastectomy its self I have never experienced such pain, massive bruising, skin numbness and tiredness. I have my bandages still on that I was told were to be removed by the Dr already. I was in hospital for 3 days in rough shape. I still have both drains in. I had surgery on the 9th and it is now the 14th. I was sent home on ketoralac and Tylenol 3. I have no idea what is what anymore. I see my surgeon on 16th. Thepain is unbearable and i am confused. I would apprecaite any advice, comments or stories from others experaince. Thank you

    Kiki,

I hope you are starting to feel better. I thought my three, about to be four surgeries were bad! I hope your doctor's are helping and answering your questions, if not, keep pushing until they do!

kiki ...im so sorry you are in so much pain...your body needs to rest in order to heal, then when the healing begins you need to stay active in order to heal properly .....i cant see how this is even possible if they are not addressing your pain....not to mention your quality of life....you must be second guessing all your decisions at this point, including this team of doctors...is it possible to have some one else look at you...i am so sorry you are going thru this, you will be in my thoughts and prayers...sending you big gentle ((hugs))

Thank you all for your kind words and support. I was starting to heal, dealing with pain and just started to feel happy with my progress when suddenly bam..yesterday I twisted a little bit while draining a pot of noodles. The pain that ripped through my breast, armpit and shoulder blade almost brought me to me knees. I now have a lump the size of a golf ball beside my breast, can barely move.😥 Now waiting for a call back from surgeon. Hope you all are well. And anyone who is about to have this surgery, please don't judge on my post. Just seems to be the luck I have. Good luck and listen to the advice of get LOTS of rest.

Thank you so much. I am wondering about my decisions, I think my Dr is great at what she does but maybe I am not explaining my pain level. Hugs back
