Anyone with Mets to Pre-Tracheal and/or Medistinal Lymph Nodes?

I have been recently dx with mets to these two new areas. Has anyone had surgery or dissection to these areas? My MO said they don't do Sx to the Mediastinal Nodes, as they are too near the heart. So they aren't going to do Sx to remove any of my cancerous Axillary nodes either. I just started my 2nd cycle of Xeloda.

Also, I've been starting to have an irritation where the Pre-tracheal node is, it's like I have a lump in my throat, feels like something is stuck in there, and it's getting a little sore. Has anyone had this removed? I've been trying to find info on this area to no avail.

I would appreciate any info, treatments, etc, that anyone has had in these areas.

Thanks

I have mets to mediastinal nodes and was told the same thing. They've considerably shrunk with treatment (clinical trial combo of Faslodex + Abemaciclib + pik3 inhibitor). I also had problems with a sore throat and what felt like nodes in my throat, but my MO's nurse practitioner said it was likely acid reflux caused by stress from my diagnosis. Ends up she was right.

Thanks for you reply Mazie. My MO emailed me back and said the nodes would be too small to cause that. That it might be from GERD. But I've had GERD for like 15 years, and keep it in control with Omeprazole 2Xday, and never had the throat feel like this before. It's not the burning feeling from acid reflux, it feels like something is stuck in my throat. Frustrating!

Good luck on your journey. 🍀💜
