After Core Needle Biopsy I was told I was HER2 negative ER and PR + now I am told I am triple positive. I recently had a double mastectomy with DIEP flap reconstruction on 5/22 and when they sent out the pathology this is what came back. I don't meet the oncolgist till Thursday this week, What will this mean in terms of chemo, oral medicine etc. There was no lymph node involvement. They did find 4 tumors one sized 2.3 cm, 1.3 cm 0.8 cm and 0.5 cm. all in the same breast all IDC.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

KCMC - the normal treatment for HER2+ is Herceptin. Usually that is combined with Taxotere or Taxol for the first 6 or more infusions to kick start the drug. Then you'll likely have Herceptin infusions every 3 weeks for a year. There are lots of threads about Herceptin & HER2+. It has been such a wonderful game changes for so many. And because you're ER/PR+, you will also likely have an oral drug for 3 years. BCO is a safe place to research. Stay away from 'dr google' to avoid incorrect information & scare stories. If you want to do more research, go to NCI or to trusted institutions like Mayo Clinic. When you get a chance, do post your diagnosis & update w/your treatment specs when you know. Good luck.
