inverted nipple- anyone with similar experience

6 months ago , after sudden nipple inversion of left breast only, had mammogram, ultrasound & biopsy of areas that appeared to have cells with hyperplasia. Also had a second area with calcifications in same breast. All benign, and now I have a 6 month follow up. Trying not to be negative, but when I asked if they could tell why my nipple inverted, they didn't really know. I feel like I'm just waiting for the malignant diagnosis. Had a giant cell malignant bone tumor over 35 years ago, so I am not panicking, I know cancer can be treated successfully, but I feel very much like the next shoe will drop , just waiting for when. Anyone have experience with nipple inversion, but no malignancy

lobular breast cancer can invert nipple or put a dent in your breast. It doesn't grow as a definate lump such as pea size etc but grows like file folders stacked up upon each other. So it's more of a thickening. Very hard to detect especially if you have dense breasts.(my mammogram person just insisted it was nothing but dense tissue, I had calcification to ) it can dent or invert your nipple because by the time it's diagnosed its very large and pulls at the breast causing pucker. Also slow growing and very treatable. Mine was hockey puck size. Check out the LBC thread to rule out. Not saying it is but just throwing it out there FYI.

Thanks very much for this information, first response that makes sense to me. I am hoping for the best outcome, but also like to be informed. Tomorrow morning is the follow up ultrasound/mammogram, so I will have my list of questions ready. Thank you again. How long did your diagnosis take
