Well, if her mammogram came out fine, then it should be good right? because they just scanned her chest area?

Also, I'm posting these things on her behalf, she doesn't really like computers that much.

Brad - you haven't posted your Mom's diagnosis & treatment. if you go to My Profile and do that, we can answer better.

Of course she thinks "it's back" with every ache & pain. We all do for some time until we learn to let go somewhat. But most of us still get anxious at scan times. Which are normal for many women.

Unfortunately there is no 'cure' for breast cancer. Hopefully her films will come back and show NED (no evidence of disease)

    Hi Brad,

For you (and your Mom) her MRI is a big, important thing. And that's how it should be. However for the MRI facility, your Mom's is (hopefully) just another routine MRI.

So it's important that you not read anything into what the techs say or the timing of results, or the way they get the results to you.

For the future, anytime she has a medical test (of whatever kind) always ask how the results will be reported, to whom, and when they will be received. That way you won't be worrying if two weeks is what should be expected (for example) or that you have to get results from her MO (or her PCP or from a patient portal somewhere) or whatever.

For now, call the imaging facility, tell them you forgot to ask, and then find out who they are sending the report to (not just a "patient letter") and how you can get a copy of both that and a disc with the images. You'll want to be keeping copies of all that for her files.

    HTH,

    LisaAlissa
