Homeless during chemotherapy

I began chemotherapy on May 4th at Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City, CA. My son and I are homeless and looking for a room to rent or affordable housing. If there is anyone that could possibly assist us or has any leads we would greatly appreciate it. Please reply on this thread or reach out to me via PM if you can help.

Have you spoken to the social worker at Kaiser? I am treated at Kaiser Santa Clara and the oncology dept. has s social worker to help with personal challenges such as yours. All the best to you

Have you tried your YWCA/YMCA? In some larger cities they have lodging for those in need according to what I was told a while ago by a friend who was helped by them. What about checking with the local Salvation Army for help? Or a local Woman's Shelter? Not sure if any can/might be of help - just ideas.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. Here are two cancer support orgs, one in Palo Alto, one in Oakland, so not ideal but they may have leads. FWIW, Stanford offers support services even if you aren't being treated there.

Have you checked with American Cancer Society? Although there is no Hope Lodge in SF they also have a program with Extended Stay America for subsidized stays. They may have other leads as well.
