PET Scan Results /Help

Options

Last week I finally got my doc to do a scan. They found Multiple Mediastinal subpectoral Lymph Nodes and more axillary nodes than previously thought. As well as a .8X.4 spot on my lung. I have had my axillary Lymph node biopsied so I know that is positive for breast cancer. I feel like I already know these others are most likely positive. I see the doctor today to see if they are going to biopsy or what they are going to do.

Has anyone else has active lymph nodes behind the chest wall? Were they able to biopsy it? From what I read it is stage 4? Is that right?

Hopefully you will get a full explanation at your appointment today. Were these findings from an MRI or x-ray?

I would describe subpectoral as under the chest muscle (not wall) so should be easier to biopsy. Those areas are probably included in the stage lll, localized diagnostic criteria.

Something in the lung might knock you into metastatic territory however there can also be artifacts from prior infections, bronchitis, etc. Try not to get ahead of yourself. It would be good to have someone going with you in order to take notes/help listen. Otherwise, perhaps you can record the discussion. Stay strong, you can do this!

    Hi Momojcbc,

Do you know the SUV numbers of those lymph nodes lit up on PET/CT?
