Any advice on this Chemo Regimen?

I am a newly diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma with a positive lymph node.  I have at least three tumors in my breast and am triple positive/HER2+.  I am having a PET scan, MRI next week.

Oncologist said if he doesn't find cancer anywhere else, his plan is for 6 cycles of chemo once every 3 weeks - 4 different drugs given at once - Herceptin, Perjeta, Carboplatin, and Taxotere.  (I know the first two are not chemo drugs, but don't know what to technically call them)

Have any of you been on this regimen?  if so, can you give me straight up advice on what I can expect?  Thank you so much!

Is he suggesting doing neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemo. Neoadjuvant is becoming more common for some now. Neoadjuvant has been the SOP for IBC for a long time. A few will do neoadjuvant and adjuvant.

A Bone Scan is also often done and an EKG or MUGGA are usually done to check heart before starting Chemo.

    Hi Upheld:

    Welcome.

Trastuzumab (HERCEPTIN) and pertuzumab (PERJETA) are in the class of HER2-targeted therapies, indicated for treating certain types of HER2-positive invasive breast cancer. They are both antibody therapeutics. Many members in the "Triple-positive Group" have received a TCHP regimen, if you'd like to join that thread and ask about it:

If you are receiving this treatment prior to surgery ("neoadjuvant" therapy), then this thread may be of interest at some point:

Hoping for clear scans for you next week.
