Unclear margins after mastectomy worries

I'm having worry flare ups again. Wife is 18 rads treatments in of 30 total (25 plus 5 boost). I still worry about her positive deep margin after mastectomy and the possibility of mammory node involvement. Would love some encouraging words from the ladies who have lived the situation. Thank you

I did not get clear margins.......and did the same as your wife.....25 plus 5 boosts.....however.... I did read up on the mammory nodes and decided with my many nodes positive I wanted them radiated......not everyone does that so I went to MD Anderson who would do it. It was an insurance policy based on having already at least 17 nodes positive....none showing in the mammory nodes. I can't tell you if it was necessary or not......but I chose to throw everything at my situation.

MD Anderson is supposed to be the best with radiation. My company was incredible and let me work out of the Houston office for six weeks.

Her mammory nodes are getting hit as well. One lit up on a PET scan once however it was right next to her heart and they said it could have lit up because of proximity. Never saw it more than the one time. Hopefully the Cleveland Clinic is just as good. Every day I worry if there is more we could do or have done. Like go with MD Anderson instead. We are 15 mins away from the Cleveland Clinic and it just seemed much easier but now I worry.

I think you are smart to have them hit them since they aren't sure. It looks like you are doing everything right......hang in there....
