UCSF (University of California at San Francisco) is currently conducting a study to learn more about breast cancer treatment related lymphedema. They are looking for more participants. It requires filling out an online questionnaire, and a one-time 3 hour study visit at the UCSF campus. It pays $150.

http://lymphaticnetwork.org/treating-lymphedema/clinical-trials/ It's the second one down.

Even though I live in Colorado (meaning my time and travel would be worth more than $150), I decided to participate. Research is important—even if I am not helped by anything they learn, I have already been helped by the women and men who have gone before me on the breast cancer path.

I was raised in the Silicon Valley, so I was eager to make a trip to San Francisco. I made my study appointment for a Friday morning. I flew into SFO on Thursday evening, and rode BART into San Francisco to my hotel. On Friday morning I went to the campus, and then I had the rest of the day Friday and all day Saturday to explore. Two sisters and one brother-in-law were able to join me on Saturday and we had a BLAST.

Perhaps that's not workable for many of you. But for any who ARE able to participate, please consider it very seriously. I'll be happy to answer any questions that I can!

(Also on that page, lower down, is a study being done by Stanford regarding lymph node transfer for arm lymphedema.)

Thank you for posting this study. Just called and talked to them about doing it - was told that I do qualify for it. Now I have to convince Hubby that I want to fly to the Bay area for a few days. I've thinking about taking a few days to go to Monterey anyway for a short walk down 'Memory Lane'. I was stationed at DLI (Defense Language Institute) there years ago.
