Palpable mass felt but not seen on ultrasound. Terrified.

There's nothing worse than no answer at all. Strike that, there are worse things, but knowing I have a breast mass (believed to be solid by gyno) that doesn't show up on ultrasound is so very frustrating. They gave me a BIRADS score of 1. How can they do this when they can't even see it?! They're blindly guessing and it's so very frustrating and terrifying and disheartening. So here are my stats:

30 year old female, three children, youngest just turn 1 year 4.28.17. Palpable mass at the 11 oclock position on outter right breast. BIRADS 1

I saw my gyno. who sent me for the ultrasound, the tech just kept telling me noting was there. I had her feel it, anD she did in fact locate the mass by touch, but was still unable to do so with the scan. I have an appointment with a general surgeon on Wednesday 5.3.17 who specializes in the breast, I'm hoping at the very least she orders an MRI. I know the only true way for diagnosis is biopsy, I'm just really scared that due to my age, and good health it may get brushed off and overlooked. I do plan to ask for an MRI if she shows lack of concern.... I don't even know why I'm posting honestly. So many people out there are in worse spots than I am.

I just happened to call and ask my gyno last week to discuss if he could just go ahead and order the MRI and I'm not sure if he meant to let this slip or not, but he informed me that because of imaging, lack thereof, and feel of the mass, he does believe it to be solid. Something about cysts being (typically) very easily detectable on US, even with dense breast tissue. So basically since last Wednesday I've been freaking out. I just had it in my head that it was definitely a cyst, I do have fibrocystic disease. This lump however, is different. It isn't painful like my cysts, it isn't moveable, and it hasn't gotten any smaller in the last 5 weeks. Mostly this is just to vent, but if anyone has any similar situations with imaging I'd be so extremely grateful to hear about them! Good or bad!!! Waiting for this appointment has been the longest three weeks of my life, everyone says it's probably nothing, not to worry and it's no big deal. But IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING, I can't not worry and if FEELS like a huge effing deal. And I know-- it probably is nothing. Most of these things are benign. I've been trying to stay positive, I just needed to let this all out to others who have been there.

Thank You for taking the time to read this, and if you have any similar experience or comments Thank You in advance!

Ash .

waiting is always difficult and it's easy to think the worst. Stay positive. I was diagnosed at 34 in 2015 and found a lump a year later on my mastectomy side. This year when I found another lump I was like not again. It's tiny, but palapable so my surgeon sent me for an ultrasound. The lump couldn't be found and the tech tried her best but I have a bit of scar tissue. For peace of mind I was sent for an MRI. Nothing showed up on the MRI so I'm just going to monitor my lump.

My lump that they couldn't see was Birads 2 because nothing suspicious showed up.

It's getting more difficult to feel lumps because of my scar tissue. Since the tests can't detect anything I'm leaving it at that for now.

I was in my mid 20s when I felt my first lump on my left side. I had it removed. Thankfully I haven't had any issues with my age and testing.

I am sorry that you are going through this. You have every right to be concerned and frustrated. It is scary! It seems like you are doing the right thing by seeing the breast surgeon. You are the best advocate for your health. I feel like you should be getting some answers very soon. I am a year older than you, and have had 2 biopsies over the past year. One of the masses was palpable and the other was not. They were fibroadenomas. I also have a large fibroadenoma on the right side as well. Hoping for answers and good results for you. You are in my thoughts.

nothing came up except a liver lesion which the breast MRI says most likely is benign. I'm going in for an ultrasound of the abdomen to check it out.
