anyone used hair w a cause?

i have a wig that i spent a good 4 grand on and love it.  ive used it daily since oct 2016 when i did chemo.  i'm considering getting hair extensions next month at hair w a cause LA location. their price is about 4 grand as well.  have u used it? did you like it?  i am limited to where i can go because i finished chemo end of jan and dont have long hair but i really really want to get rid of wig and feel normal again.  what do you think about this place

Hi Bravemama34. I have no personal experience with that Salon, nor with hair extensions.

I am so sorry you feel bad about Chemo taking your hair. You are normal. You are beautiful. You are always Becoming the person you are to be.

I am concerned that their hair extension services could defeat your purpose/s -- your hopes for your natural hair. I am concerned that they are not informing you of that possibility.

[From their website:] "We combine the most advanced Hair Enhancement Technologies and Hair Extending methods to create hair that grows in stronger and healthier."

I am calling BS on that statement. For one thing, they cannot change the natural characteristics of your hair/s. For another thing, hair is not living tissue, so it does not have health. For another thing, use of attached hair extensions is inherently, necessarily damaging to the hair/s to which they are attached.

With attached hair extensions, there is real risk of hair loss – possibly even permanent hair loss -- from traction alopecia. See, as hair strands grow longer, their (respective) follicles are gradually conditioned (in the sense of strengthened) to carry the weight of the hair having grown from and having been carried by them, even with the added weight of the hair/s being wet regularly. One cannot fairly assume that the follicles will be agreeable to suddenly having to carry so much more weight as comes with attached extensions.
