I had first surgery in March because I had a lump in my right breast

Good thing was the lump was just "a lump" bad thing was that DCIS was located very close to my nipple so DCIS was also removed with lump at my first surgery

After the surgery doctor said my nipple need to be gone because DCIS was located too close to the nipple

So I had the second surgery to remove my nipple

And I heard from today nipple was clean after all. Suddenly I am thinking nipple removal was right decision?

All the best

    lovellena,

you made the best decision with the information you had at the time! We all have to do that, and then move forward. Mine had to go too as I had 2 areas of DCIS too close to the nipple. Too much of a risk to get everything else out and leave a few cells behind. I got mine reconstructed. Nice 3 dimensional one that very closely matches my other one. Is that an option for you?
