Using Dignicap

Has anyone here with triple-negative breast cancer used the Dignicap to try to preserve your hair? Sounds like results aren't great with my regimen so don't know if it's worth the try. I really value keeping my hair but want to make a logical decision.

My regimen is Adriamycin & Cyclophosphamide followed by Paclitaxel.

    Hi SoniaL-

Welcome to BCO! You might want to try posting your question in our chemo forum, there are some threads there about different kinds of caps and it will likely get more feedback in that forum: https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/69

I can't speak to the Dignicaps, as none of the facilities in my area have them, but I am using Penguin Cold Caps. My chemo regimen is similar to yours, I just finished 4 sessions of dose dense AC, and although I have lost a decent amount of hair it isn't obvious to anyone but myself. I am moving on to Taxol and Carboplatin this week, which are supposedly easier on the hair, so I'm optimistic I will be a success story. There is a seperate thread on this site with a bunch of ladies that have used different caps. It is a commitment for sure, but I personally think it has been totally worth it. Surprisingly, no one at the huge oncology office I go to has ever used them before so I've had lot of nurses ask me about it because other patients have asked. It totally surprised my oncologist when I went in for my 3rd treatment with a full head of hair!
