Will oncologist see you if you are sick with cold?

I know that's a weird subject title. I have my first followup with the oncologist after starting tamoxifen. I haven't been into that office much since I went from surgery to radiation without chemo, though they are very nice.

My child was pretty sick with a bad cold this weekend and I obviously had close contact with her (still trying to teach her to cover her mouth when she coughs, but she's still really little). She is also like velcro when she's sick. She's better now, thank goodness.

I'm supposed to see my oncologist for follow-up in a few days. If I end up catching my daughter's cold, do you think the oncologist will make me re-schedule? I know I'm way ahead of myself here, and can easily call the office if I actually get sick and see what they want me to do. But I think and worry about things like this. :-P I think they have masks and hand sanitizer in the waiting room, maybe it's for things like that. Hmm....

I think your oncologist will see you whether you have a cold or not. The question is, whether you want to see your oncologist while you have a cold and specifically, whether you want to have labs or some other tests while you have a cold.

And whether you want to expose the other immounosuppressed patients to a cold :)

Yeah I thought about that--getting someone else sick. Hopefully it won't happen, but if it does and I'm sick come Wednesday (appointment is on Thursday) I can call them to discuss.
