Hi

I don't post very often, but come back to this site often.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has lots of pins and needles in one hand. The side I had my ALND. It's almost a year now and it hasn't gone away. Is it a sign of lymphodema? Is it nerve damage from surgery? Is it from chemo? There's a long list of things it could be. Does anyone else suffer this.

Thank you

I have the pins and needles down one arm also. My physio says it is nerve damage initially from the surgery made worse in my case from radiation. I have been doing the recommended stretches but it has gotten worse from the radiation. My lymphedema seems pretty well managed at the moment but the tingling is really bothersome.

I am taking more Lyrica which is my pain medication so I can sleep at night without the tingling waking me. I am getting the physio to work more on the tight muscles and have been told that it should improve with this treatment.

Sometimes my glove is too tight and gives pins and needles. To fix that I insert big fat felt markers when drying garments.

Thank you for getting back to me. Its just really annoying, just a constant reminder of what we've been through. I'm doing a lot of stretches of my pect muscle (which is very tight) and it seems to be making it worse. I'm just starting to wonder if it will ever get better?

I've had pins and needles and numbness in both arms on awakening and do not have lymphedema. My doc said it may be from surgery and to keep stretching and doing exercises. She also told me to pay attention to my sleeping postures and move around at night to relieve pressure. HOWEVER, I had some pins and needles and numbness before any of this started--but now I notice it and go first to the thought that it's related to the surgery, which may not be the case.

hugz - thanks for the "felt marker' idea. I have a gauntlet that cuts off the circulation in my thumb. I'm going to try that.
