Removing breast implants and having fat transfer procedure
Has anyone had their breast implants removed and then gone on to have fat transfer? If so which doctor did you use? Anyone seen Dr Khouri?

I'm looking into this. My PS recommended a consult with Dr. Khouri. Have you talked to their office yet?

I went opposite direction... did fat graft first, then opted for implants. I got fat graft in Nov 2014. It looked great and added some fullness to my breast. I only had lumpectomy, sonit did help aesthetics.... until I lost 5 pounds. And it vanished! Good thing was that it provided more vascularity to my breast so I no longer had itchy skin from rads. Bad thing was that I was pretty displeased with the appearance afterwards. I kept getting smaller and more shrunken on my left side, due to rads. I've got submuscular implants and just had 2nd surgery-- did get capsular contracture. I'm willing to deal with another surgery if it comes back, but im pretty happy to look restored at the moment. I am slender so cannot do fat graft again. I think some people people have success- keep us posted

I haven't contacted Dr Khouri's office except to ask a question by email. I am starting to lean toward Dr Coleman in NYC. There's a FB page Breast Implant Illness and Healing with Nicole. Most on the page are breast augmentation. Not too many have seen Khouri, more with Coleman. I have heard mixed reviews with Khouri.

I did a consult with Khouri but selected Hartog in Orlando. Great surgeon.
I'd recommend a consult with a couple different one

Ual0307- How did it go? What issues were you having and were they relieved?

Will he just be doing fat transfer? Or does he do the step down procedure? I am leaning toward a flap. Ugh but not sure I have enough fat to make it worth my while.

Olaf I have implants from 2011 and i am scheduled for diep in December in Philadelphia. I am trying to get information too, to make sure I am making the right decision

lmichele-who is doing your DIEP in philly?
Ual- are you using the brava device in addition to the fat grafting

Lula73:
Dr. Suhail Kanchwala at Penn
Do you know anything about him?
-
hi.
Oh yea on the brava. I had mx plus radiation so I am having my 8th procedure next Thursday. Sitting here in the brava now. While it does what it supposed to, it is not joyful at all. Lol
I hope this to be the last....but I hope the same each time.

lmichele- no I don't know him. There's another one in PA that kept coming up when I'd google DIEP surgeons. His after pics looked like something out of a Frankenstein movie. Just making sure you weren't putting your faith in him.
Ual- glad to hear you're using brava! I haven't heard of much success doing only fat grafting without it

ual, so are doing the Brava and then just fat transfer? Where are you located?
I go back and forth on what I should do. I have some odd feelings with my implants but am pretty sure TRICARE (military insurance) will turn me down to remove them. I don't want to be concave so that means an expensive procedure, SGAP. I also have textured implants and with the risk, even low, of ALCL scares me!

hi Olaf
Yes brava and just fat transfer. I fly to Florida (from the VI) for procedures.
While we are struggling to get volume because of radiation, my skin in now soft, armpit restored (modified radical), pain, tightness gone. Still have a little stiffness with full round house rotation but getting better. I have social cleavage--so I can wear "almost" anything.
Slow process. But it has helped me with feeling normal.
