Hello!I had Stage 1, ER PR Negative, Her2+++ in 2009.Lumpectomy, chemo and radiation.Saw my oncologist every 3-6 months for five years. One day away from being cancer free for 5 years, I was diagnosed with a new breast cancer, same spot, triple negative.Double Mastectomy and chemotherapy. This last year, I saw my oncologist every 3 months and now they have cut me loose to not come back for a YEAR!I don't think this is right LFor those of you who have had it 2-3x (I'm so sorry), what is the guideline or recommendation for follow-up?You'd think that you get it a 2nd time, they would watch you more closely, but this makes absolutely no sense to me.I'm going through the reconstruction process right now.I'm 47 and live in WI JThanks!

After active treatment, I saw my MO every 3 months for year. Then it dropped to every 6 months. My much admired MO retired, but the replacement doc kept the schedule. I am now 2-1/2 years past any treatment and he still schedules every 6 months.

My BS & PS & RO saw me at 3 mos, 6 mos & a year after their last respective treatments (including reconstruction). Since my MO retired, both my BS & my RO offered to keep me on a 6 mos recall schedule for another year. Altho I didn't like all those doc visits, it sure made me feel more comfortable. In 2017 I will not see any but the MO.

Second cancer for me. Prior to 2nd diagnosis last year, I was seeing my MO every year but having an MRI yearly and a mammogram twice a year. I switched MO and BS for this cancer and I saw my MO every three weeks for the first year as I was getting Herceptin on that schedule. Now slated to see him every four months for the next year. Still getting the MRI yearly not sure if I will be getting mammogram every year or every six months.
