Dr just called with my results

had excisional biopsy monday. It's dcis stage 0. No invasion, etc. Seeing him tues for post op visit. He may or may not want a bit more tissue. But he said relax, there is no chemo or mastectomy so try to enjoy easter. I guess it could be worse and at least I know

    yes, at least you got the news before the weekend. I find it's better to know than not to know. After you see your doctor, you will have a plan and I always think having a plan gives us a sense of control. As your doctor has already said, with dcis you will not need chemo and that should be a big relief. Most of the time dcis is treated with lumpectomy and radiation and a hormone suppressant.

    my excisional biopsy pretty much was like a lumpectomy but I think he wants a bit more. I can handle that

    Oscarmom, that is good news on your excision pathology! no invasive component or micro-invasion is good. So happy you got the good news for the weekend.
