Around November/December 2016 I had a lump on my left breast. I was 18 at the time. Along with that lump I had shoulder pain(left one). I went to the doctor and she said its was 2 inches long and wide. I went to do an ultrasound and they said it was just tissue. After the ultrasound the pain went away. This past month (early March 2017) the pain was back but no lump just pain and then it went away after I turned 19 (also in march). Now it's early April and for the past week almost 2 weeks it started hurting again. This time I feel pain in both of my breasts but there is no lump. It says like an aching pain sometimes But my shoulder is still hurting. Sometimes I notice redness around breast but then again I've had redness ever since I was younger (like 10) especially since I take are hot showers so I don't think that part is a big deal. No one in my family has a history of cancer. I don't have inverted nipples, or anything out of the ordinary. IDK if this helps but last time in march when I had the pain, it went away as soon as I started my period and like a week after my period ended is when it came back which is now (early April). I know I should go to the doctor but I'm scared and paranoid. I'll go eventually but what do you guys think this is (yes I know most of you aren't doctors lol).

Go back to your doctor for sure. In all likelihood it will be nothing but better to find out ASAP. If it is nothing, at least you will not be stressing any more. If it is something which requires action, at least you can start to plan. I have never been one to delay! Good luck

Jay, the odds of you having anything besides normal hormonal and/or fibrocystic breasts at nineteen is next to zero. Those conditions make your breasts sore, and also tend to hurt sometimes in your shoulder & axilla. There is no reason to be scared and paranoid to go to the doctor. Breast pain is one of the most common reasons women go.

Dear jay19, We are sorry that you are having these worries. We agree with our members here. There is no reason to be afraid to see your doctor. Once you have a cause for your symptoms you can gain peace of mind. Only your doctor can help you with that. Let us know how you make out. The Mods
