Hi! I am in an interesting place. I had a bilateral mastectomy in October, 2016. I had my implants put in December, 2016. I started physical therapy in February. It has been tough, but worth it! I Have been experiencing pain specifically on my right side which is also the side where the lymph nodes were removed. I saw my plastic surgeon this week for my 3-month follow up and she is concerned about the scar tissue that has developed and my implants are still kinda hard. She recommended an outpatient surgery to remove the scar tissue. Now I also saw my physical therapist this week too and she had suggestions. She would like to move aggressively with stretches and methods to break up the scar tissue and bypass another surgery. I do not desire to be opened up again (even if it is outpatient surgery). I am hoping the appointments and home stretches will be effective! Has anyone experienced this? Did physical therapy help? Or was surgery necessary? HELP!!!!

I have had capsulectomy twice and may be facing a third. Hoping to avoid this. Will be following replies to this question

I just had implants in January and had first capsulectomy. I'm hopeful it doesn't return. I can say that aggressively massaging and stretching did help with mine previous to capsulectomy, but ultimately I still had too much scar tissue to be considered a success in my surgeons etes
