Anyone suggested/on thistherapy with nothing else? Initially dx in bones, moved to liver last fall, now possible spot in pleura.

I was originally stage IIIC, MO didnt start chemo with 12 positive nodes. After dealing with her from Dec to Feb she said I was stage IV and she put me on Arimidex (I am Post menopause) she said that is standard of care. I did have a large node on my neck that has disappeared within 30 days of being on hormone therapy. Only hoping it is working on the other 12 nodes. I did get a second opinion and am switching MO

I was diagnosed stage IV from the start with extensive bone mets. My first line of treatment was tamoxifen with Xgeva and Lupron. My tumors mostly disappeared and/or were greatly reduced. Tamoxifen worked for 3.5 years and then switched to Letrozole when there was minor progression. I did have an oophorectomy one year in and switched from Xgeva to zometa 1.5 years in.

My first line treatment was femara (letrozole) only.  I had progression after 18 months and we went faslodex/Ibrance.

I was diagnosed with Mets in and around the lung. I have been on letrozole only and it is stable. I worried about the one treatment but it seems to be the standard of care and it is working so far! Hang in there. That one little pill is very effective. I am so sorry you have to be here.

I have been on either Arimidex(Anastrozole) and now Femara (letrozole) for a bone mets, and nothing else save for a bone strengthener, for over 5 years. Those tiny pills are quite powerful and I have been NED the whole time. I did have rads to the bone lesion. Tamoxifen or AI's (for the post menopausal) can be great tx. Good luck to you
