Feels like muscle pain

Options

I can't find anything recent on this. I am just into week 2 of 2nd round of FEC. Yesterday my upper arm muscle (inner arm between elbow and shoulder) was extremely painful. I thought it may be a result of some gardening I'd done on Sunday. But I've woken in the early hours and the pain is awful and I realise it must be caused by something else. Any useful suggestions?

How many lymph nodes did you have removed? Did any of your care team discuss lymphedema and how to minimize the risk? Please post your treatment and diagnostic info in your profile so we can have more information and be better able to help you.

Saunterelle - Did you have surgery on the affected side? I have the same pain on the side of my mastectomy. My physical therapist explained that 3 muscles, 2 which were effected by the surgery, attach at this point. It is now weak because those muscles are still recovering.

Sorry for the long gap before responding. In fact I discovered that the pain was caused by trauma to the vein into which the chemo had been injected. I had been confused because the canular had been in my hand and the pain was in the top half of my arm. I took aspirin for about 4 days and the pain went. I have since had a PICC line fitted.
