Hematoma From Car Accident

I was in a car accident in November, 2016. One of my breasts became tangled up in the seatbelt and a lot of pressure was put on it. Because of this, I developed hematomas within my right breasts. I stayed in the hospital several days, then went home to heal. During the past four months plus I've been seen by the hospital trauma surgeon, a hematologist, and my internist. All say that the hematomas will be reabsorbed by my body in time. I asked my internist to send me for an ultrasound. From that I had a mammogram. The radiologist is recommending a biopsy. I'm very confused and feel as if I've waited a long time to address this problem. The two hematomas have gone down by about half their original size in the past four months, but they are still the size of large marbles. Is anyone familiar with this type of problem? Has anyone had a hematoma turn into cancer? I'm scared to death and need some answers. Thanks so much for anything you can share with me. Scared

lyncan, hematomas don't "turn into cancer", so please don't worry about that. I got a pretty good sized hematoma from my lumpectomy, that didn't really ever go away. Well, most of it was removed when I had my mx, but what was left of it remains still - 14 years later. I've heard that they get reabsorbed, but mine didn't. What exactly is the radiologist recommending a biopsy OF? The hematoma, or something else that they found incidentally when they were imaging your hematomas?

My doctor didn't mention any other mass. Thanks for addressing my question.
