Medical Marijuana

Options

Hi All, I just want to ask if someone ever tried using medical cannabis as an alternative medicine? I've been reading some article about medical marijuana and how it can help you in terms of pain management, anxiety disorders and panic attacks even cancer and a lot more. Like this review on a certain strain called sage marijuana, it has a very high pain suppressing effect. Cbd and thc are also new to me and I don't even smoke. Alternatively, they've also find new ways to infuse cannabis on food and beverages. If this is true I cant find any solid conclusive evidence that speaks to its efficacy. Any personal experience or testimonial would be highly appreciated. Thanks

Girlsha, there is a very active thread on the Alternative Treatment board. Here's the link to the discussion.

Please Google Darren Miller,  he is from Granite City, IL.  I have spoken with him and his wife in person.  They try to get the message out to all.  He states he has been cured of stage 4 non small cell lung cancer.  I have seen his lab work, CT scans, and surgery info.  He has been on TV shows, radio talk shows, many magazine articles.  To cure cancer he says you have to do the "oil"  and the oil has to be greater than 50% THC.  My friend, whom I have posted about on here, was just put in hospice.  She just started the oil.  She puts it in capsules and takes it every 4 hrs without fail.  You increase your dose till you are doing 1 gm. a day.  Hope this helps. I am praying it works for her because if it doesn't doc says there is no more medical treatments at this time.

Lung and breast cancers are two very different kinds of tumors. Miller may be NED, but that doesn’t mean he’s “cured,” and the remission may be coincidental to his taking the THC oil. THC is also the psychoactive component of cannabis. This may sound cruel, but your friend in hospice has nothing to lose at this point. But someone with Stage IV cancer that is not yet terminal is playing with fire if they spurn conventional treatments for those that are not scientifically proven—and anecdotal evidence is not proof, technically it isn’t even evidence, just one person’s experience. There is a lot of junk science out there, born primarily out of frustration over the fact that a sure-fire cure has not been developed and that there is no way to guarantee one will never suffer a recurrence or new primary tumor. When hope isn’t clearly in sight, mirages look better & better.

My MO will sign a med-mar card only for Stage IV patients (assuming they are in pain) or those on chemo whose appetites are so compromised that they’re in danger of becoming cachectic. And she also said that for ER+ bc, THC and CBD might have estrogenic effects.

    Tread carefully.

Also for anyone on tamoxifen, CBD has been found to inhibit CYP2D6, which is the enzyme primarily responsible for converting tamoxifen into endoxifen - the metabolite that does the bulk of the work against the cancer. They are not sure how strong the inhibiting effect is in the human body, and due to the uncertainty I would never take concentrated CBD along with tamoxifen. It also inhibits other CYP450 enzymes so it's possible it could also interfere with other treatments.

I have read the research and I have not been convinced that marijuana is estrogenic. Some research suggests it might actually be anti-estrogenic, but again, with no proof either way I do not imbibe regularly. But I do occasionally indulge for relaxation without worrying too much about it. I don't have a prescription because there is still a stigma attached and I don't want it held against me. I get it and smoke it the old fashioned way.

Rick simpson Oil (RSO) is great for cancer prevention and treatment. TNBC cancer cells are covered in CBD receptors so it works fast and efficient though it is fatiguing. Found a nano particle CBD oil that I injected instead once daily and had zero negative side effects and tumor was gone in weeks, not months. Able to forego radiation as well. CBD will be a part of our daily diet in the near future to help prevent cancer. Working with Chris Hulliger to help make his medicine available to all! Started Cancer care Registry service to help offset the costs of the oil and other natural treatments that insurance does not cover yet.

Where did you get injectable nano particle cbd? Where can I read about this product?

solfeo~ Do you think it's both THC and CBD that interferes with T?

I take MMJ as a sleep aid. I wish there was something else that works. My favorite herb,Valerian, also interferes with T's effectiveness.

    Any suggestions?

@ ChiSandy, I am well aware lung cancer and breast cancer are 2 very different cancers. It has supposedly also worked with breast cancer. I would never suggest to NOT do chemo to do the oil, it should be done simultaneously. Also, your MO should be aware. You are correct, who knows if it was the chemo or the oil or the combination of both. I know my sis died from non small cell lung ca just a few months before this gentleman was diagnosed. She had the same chemo as he but it did not save her. I know everyone is different, some may respond to chemo and some may not. But the oil is worth a try. I have read many, many success stories from all sorts of cancers. I do believe you should do the oil as soon as possible once diagnosed. Like anything else, the worse the cancer is the harder it will be to be cured. As for Darren Miller, he was diagnosed in June of '15 with the lung ca and mets to the pericardium, did chemo and the oil (THC > 50% not CBD oil) and by Jan '16 his scan was clear. remains clear to this day. ???? I am just wanting to spread the word. Everyone should do their own research and talk with their MDs.

Hi! I've been reading alot about this topic with interest. I was diagnosed with ER+/PR+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer in Feb 2015 and I'm on my first line treatment (Tamoxifen & Lupron). I'm interested in medical marijuana to mitigate bone pain. (Technically, one of my two tumors in my spine sits on my spinal nerve.) I'm a little confused as there seems to be mixed opinions.

My questions to you are: (1) What is the appropriate ratio of THC:CBD given that I'm ER+/PR+/HER2-? I've read repeatedly that 1:1 or 1:3 is recommended. (2) Should I stick with a low concentration? I'm a little nervous about interactions with Tamoxifen.

    I've got a question and a statement:

I don't know much about cannabis or RSO as primary treatment for cancer but I smoked a lot while I was on chemo and there's a huge quality of life benefit. I never got sick from the chemo. The doctors were all really impressed with how well I tolerated treatment. I credit that to the cannabis.

Also... Wait WHAT? Does THC also effect Arimidex, or is it specific to tamoxafin? I've been really open about my cannabis use with all my doctors and none of them have mentioned a possible interaction.
