I will be getting b/l mastectomy with immediate recon. with silicone gummy bear implants (800cc?) Will they give me bras to wear right away? Whats the best bra to wear after? Any input appreciated!

I was given a Marena surgical bra to go home in, but had to buy myself more. The best (and recommended by my plastic surgeon) is the fruit of the loom front close sports bras. I'm still wearing them 3 months later. I bought them in several sizes not knowing which would fit best and use them all depending on how they're feeling. Sometimes tight, sometimes loose are more helpful. They are great, and cheap, and come in a couple styles...the one is a 2 pack for around $11 and the single for around $7. Love them. I bought some Bali and Coobie stretch bras (also recommended by ps) too, but always go back the the FOL...

I was just wondering where to get fitted, I heard Nordstroms but do you know of any other place?

Can I just buy 3 and exchange the ones that don't fit right?

I'm hoping you see this as your post was a year ago.

Your surgeon should be able to advise you on places in your area. I went to a boutique bra place - expensive but lots of help with fitting and lots of options. I also went to Nordstrom's and they were quite helpful.

Mastectomy bras and forms are usually covered (at least in part) by insurance so check with them as well.
