I am heading to the Breast Care Clinic here in the UK next tues but had all my treatment done in the states. I was wondering if anyone has ever noticed that after reconstruction, implants in, down the road if the skin around your nipples turns red (looks splotchy... I am super fair skinned too) after you wear say a tight shirt or bra through out the day? Come morning this is gone. I am going in to get checked out because I mighted have pulled just about every muscle in my chest from moving into a house.. but I cant seem to find anything out there on this. Only thing I can think of is irritation. Thanks in advance.

You might have better luck posting this in the Breast Reconstruction forum.

This is the forum for people who elected not to reconstruct, so many of the people reading likely don't have any experience with what you're describing. :)

My mother did this - and then 10 years later has had them removed. I would really encourage you to research implant illness and you can find a wealth of stories on a Facebook group called Breast Implants: Ticking Time Bombs. It is just something I would very much urge you to look at before making a decision.

Bearhitch - I'm sorry your mother had such a bad experience. Implants are no longer the potentially dangerous things they once were. Not to say it isn't a foreign body in our bodies, but the horrible issues like leaking silicon are a thing of the past. I try to encourage women to research on the NCI site or CancerCare or read on this site and not peruse Dr. Google, who is often way our of date or just wrong. That said, everyone has to make their own decision about reconstruction and there are good & bad things each way.
