Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum. I am a 19 year old university student who attends school away from home and my mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She didn't even tell me until I came home for spring break two weeks ago, and she's known since January. She had her lumpectomy surgery in February, and is planning to have a masectomy in the summer time. She will also be starting chemo and radiation soonish- like in the next month or so, I should be home from school by this time. I don't know what to do. She doesn't seem to want to talk about it much, she's been very positive but I don't know if she's just putting up a mask or if she's actually worried, I know she has to be, but I feel like she's trying to be strong for us. Does anyone have experience with this type of situation. How can I provide support to her without making her feel bad?
