I was just dx with MBC with one lung nodule. Meeting with mo today and another one tomorrow. Looking for info on surgery to remove the 1 nodule. Has anyone had the same? research does not show me much.

Thanks,
Maryellen

I had more of a mass than a nodule - it was measured at over 3 cm. A thoracic surgeon removed the entire lung lobe last June. It turned out there were cancerous cells in some lymph nodes, so it wasn't isolated to the lung, unfortunately. The surgery was pretty heavy duty, with drains and a week long hospital stay. But I'm feeling fine now, exercising and doing well. Ask me any questions you'd like -

My doctor always was against surgery for lung mets. With just one, I am sure targeted therapy will be useful.

I see you are a triple +++ like myself. I have been living with multiple lung mets for over 9 years. doing well.

Hi Fitz twins, curious as to the reason your doctor is against surgery for lung mets. Did he/she explain their thoughts?

You know I can't remember why. Most doctors are the of the mindset, once the horse is out of the barn...no surgery.
