Worried about pain.

So I believe there is nothing to worry about here but figured I would pose the question anyways. My wife has been having some muscle pain near her hip. We had a scare at the beginning with a spot on her hip bone that was biopsied and no cancer was there. The last PET scan showed nothing in that spot. She says the pain is through her muscle.

Now on to what I believe the problem is. When she is at work she sits with her one leg tucked under the other with her foot right in that area. Seeing as though she her body is weakened and not tight and tone because of all the recovery laying around and treatment I'm guessing she is just sore.

I've read that that bone mets really don't cause muscle pain but just wanted to pose the question for her because I love her. I know as time progresses each little problem will spark cancer worries, I'm. Just trying to logic her out of these first ones so she can rest a little better.

Read up on trochanter bursitis. I have it in one of my hips, had it before cancer. When it flares up I mildly worry. How I calm myself down is I grab the muscle and fat there, move it, and then press on the bone. No pain, the pain moves with the tissue I move, if that makes sense.

Not saying don't monitor, but first I go to a crazy place, then I slap myself and say okay, what could be the ordinary cause of the pain, rash, swelling, etc.

Hugs, I know it is hard.

Tom1981, I am sorry she is in pain and consequently having this worry.

I have had (what feels like muscular) soreness and stiffness along the outer side of one thigh, from around the hip down to the knee, for about as long as I have been on Letrozole. Is your wife taking an Aromatase Inhibitor?

No she hasn't even started radiation yet which makes me fairly confident that this is nothing

If the pain is continuous for two weeks -- never even lessening -- she should inform her Doctors.

It definitely comes and goes. She takes a hot shower and it goes away. Heat helps. I'm sure it's just her body readjusting to activity. If it persists I'll have her call the doctor. She is just freaking because it was area that lit up in a PET even though biopsied and proven to be negative, and even disappeared. Plus it's muscle pain, not bone pain. I'm sure she is over worrying, but if it's a thing we will have it looked at.

That is encouraging, that it goes away sometimes.

Is there any sharpness to the pain? I am wondering if it may be related to her having had that biopsy taken through that area.

I take intramuscular injections, and for weeks following each I sometimes feel replay (or re-experience) of the feeling of the shots at my injection sites. The same has happened over a long time following shots in my feet.

No stinging. Just aching. She gives a 2 on a 1 to 10 scale of pain. She rubbed some Aspercreme on it and it's helping. My guess is muscle pain.

I hope it will be resolved soon. She is very blessed to have her husband so concerned and involved in her care.

    We care too.

I have a pelvic pain which comes and go. I first noticed it in Jan and docs ordered CT scan, bloods and ultrasound..all came back clear..the pain went away but it comes back periodically. However I do a lot of spinning/cycling and realised it's a tendon pulling..it's nature to think the worst..but if testing/biopsy come back clear, then likely to be muscular..apparently MRI can detect tears etc..

I'm sure it's the mind wondering. She had scans in January prior to surgery and they were clear in that area. To go from clear to something that would be enough to cause her hip and thigh to hurt I would think would be a bit of a stretch in that amount of time. Seeing as icy hot seems to help too is leading me to believe it's just something normal. I just wish our heads could calm down but I guess it's normal.
