Lets get a little perspective here. 394 cases, reported to the FDA, of the anaplastic large-cell lymphoma, out of the 5 Million Plus implants in the US as of 2010. Doesn't seem like a very large risk when you look at it that way. I will just have to take my chances.

My PS said the risk was akin to being stuck by lightening. However, I do worry it could be under reported

Hate to be negative but my PS mentioned that one of his patients actually developed this condition and that though it's rare, he steers clear now.

Have to love the irony that this report was released on the exact day of my direct to implant mastectomy reconstruction! Lovely! Ugh

Jessi mommy, Me too. Lol. Immediately after my textured implants were put in, this report came out. The only reassurance I can give it that I am an ultrasound technologist that has been specializing in breast ultrasound for 13 out of my 17 year career. I have never seen this. I have seen many women that develop reconstruction issues and come for sonograms. We have biopsied things and drained fluid post mastectomy. I have found recurrences, but never this, so, I'm feeling pretty ok with my textured implants.
