    Hi Everyone;

    I have been recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma and to make matters worse I started having teeth problems. My bridge have started to break. I need to get my dental work done, but don't want to delay my cancer treatment.  What does everyone think? Should I do it before cancer treatment or after?

    Thank you in advance for your help

    definitely get started with the dental work. I don't know if you'll need chemo, but they will tell you to get your cleanings and dental repairs done prior to starting chemo. It probably won't hold up your BC treatments.

    It may depend on the pain you have. I would talk to your doctor about how soon you will begin treatment and see if you can get the work done beforehand. It's true they don't like you to have procedures or even cleanings done during chemo, and if you're going to be in a lot of pain from the teeth issues, it's probably better to get it out of the way asap.

    Sorry you have to join us--but we welcome you as our b.c. sister. Get teeth work done before. ASAP. Your immune system will probably be compromised during chemo, even if you get the meds that supposedly boost your immune system. you don't want to wind up with an mouth or tooth infection if you get dental work done during your chemo. In fact most dentists won't even provide work unless it's a dire emergency during chemo.
