Hello All,

I am finishing up my last AC this week and will start Taxol once a week for 12 weeks in April. I have heard that for the majority, it is an easier treatment, but wanted to reach out and see what some of you lovely ladies who have already or are having Taxol now have for feedback.

Thanks much!

Traci

Traci - Taxol was much easier for me than the A/C. I have my last of 12 this coming Friday. I had no nausea. I was achy in my hips and back usually 48-72 hours post chemo but a Tylenol helped with that. No neuropathy. The most annoying thing has been the numbness in the end of my tongue. It feels like I burned it on a hot drink! My taste buds are also gone but hoping they come back in a few weeks. Good luck!

I had it three years ago, I was 54 then. Like the others have said already the infusions are much easier and shorter than AC. The blood counts don't drop like they do on AC, which means you feel better and are able to carry on more or less as usual. However, my liver enzymes rose significantly and my taxol dose was reduced starting from #3. Despite dose reduction I still got some neuropathy and the last two infusions were left up to me to take or refuse. I got all 12 and don't have any neuropathy left. However, got slight edema in the left foot only that is permanent. To summarize, neuropathy and liver impact were the main concerns.
