hello everyone. This is my first post. I found a weird dimple like thing during a self breast exam. I went to a breast specialist that referred me to have a mammogram and US. I have done that and now I will be having a core biopsy this Thursday. The radiologist said she is pretty sure sure it's nothing and I could wait 6 months if I wanted but I have health anxiety and panic attacks so I opted for the biopsy right away. I got a BIRADS 4 on the report. I am so scared of pain with the biopsy and mostly scared I will get a bad result. Thank you for any info you can give me. I have had 3 surgical breast biopsies in the past. Started when I was 15 y.o. I am now 41. Any info is appreciated

    Hi MissWorryWort:

Hugs to you. Waiting for biopsies and the results is very stressful. I don't blame you for wanting it now and not in 6 months time. When you already have panic attacks and anxiety, the stress of the biopsy time is that much more torture. I know, because I am another missWorryWort. You are a fellow sister worrier. :).

It is good news that the radiologist thinks its benign. Its also good that you are being looked after and checked. Most biopsies, something like 80% are benign. So odds are highly in your favor.

Heres wishing you a speedy biopsy and good news!

Let us know what you find.

    wallan.

I had my stereotactic breast biopsy and a thyroid ultrasound for a lump all done yesterday. My doctor just updated my file on my patient portal on his site with 'prophylactic measure'. Anyone have any idea what that could mean?
