Severe scalp pain after first TC treatment

Greetings. I wonder if anyone has had this. About 18-19 days after my first chemo, TC, my scalp hurt so bad that I almost couldn't touch it. Combing it was very painful and taking a top off over my head was also quite painful. I had cut my hair very short anticipating hair loss. I read somewhere that the pain would subside if I had my head shaved so I did... and the pain has stopped. The only problem is that it appears that my hair isn't falling out , I also seem to have hair on other parts of my body also.... am I going to keep my hair? Was I silly for shaving it?

Any comments are very welcome..

Susan, I had TC as well. My hair didn't really fall until right about my 2nd treatment. I wished it had gone faster for the reason you've just experienced. It was all gone at treatment 2. Eyebrows and other body hair were a bit more tenacious, but ultimately all fell out.
