Hi Everyone! I had a 3D screening mammogram on March 2nd. Got a callback on March 5th stating that I needed to come back for an ultrasound of a specific area of concern. That appointment is scheduled for the 13th. However, yesterday,i got a voicemail saying that they have scheduled me for multiple tests. Of course, by the time i got the message, it was after 5 on Friday.

My question for you is what other types of tests could they possibly be running at this point besides the ultrasound. And...how likely am I to know whether we are looking at a malignancy on the day of the ultrasound and other tests.

HoneyBee - some clinics & hospitals run tests at the same time. In many ways, that's really good because you don't have to wait for yet another appointment. Perhaps you'll have a diagnostic mammo - really the next step. When you have the ultrasound, if they see something perhaps you'll have an ultrasound biopsy. I had one right then. Then they may leave a clip or two and do another mammo to make sure the clips are in place at the position they want to mark.

Most of the time, you're not likely to know any results. Those will be given to the provider who first ordered the tests. If they don't say anything, try not to read bad words from their expressions or quiet demeanor. It's likely meaningless. The techs are really not supposed to tell you anything.

They may also have you scheduled for an MRI. Hoping for good test outcomes

Thanks so much for your response. I hate the idea of having to wait to hear from my provider. I wish they could just tell me what I need to know then. I know that's not how it works, but still.....
