Rib Pain Years Later

Had BC in 2005. Treated chemo and radiation. Over the past two years I have had mild (but nagging and increasing) rib pain. During this time I have had 3 CT scans of my upper left abdomen--2 to monitor a kidney cyst--and most recently to diagnose the rib pain. I'm not concerned that the rib pain is caused by the radiation. If radiation causes the rib pain or causes brittle ribs, should I avoid radiation to monitor the kidney cyst?
