    Amanda,

I'd say that would depend on a lot of factors. Can you give us any more details to better help you?

    Hello Amanda,

My first MRI Feb 2016 they called me 2 hours afterwards to let me know I needed a biopsy. My 2nd MRI Monday March 6th 2017, I just found out today and it was great news. Hope that helps. It goes with the saying no news is good news! Much Luck to you!

Hi and thank you for replying. I've had mammos and ultrasounds 5 yrs ago something was found and without a biopsy the radiologist said "benign finding" I went on with my life but still getting regular mammos. I started to notice my breast enlarged (only one) and pain so I went to the dr who ordered another mammo and ultrasound both neg. I then asked for a breast MRI. I just had it done today, if there was something seen do you think they would tell me while I was there?

It would depend on what their procedures are. DJMammo could probably tell you better, but I would guess that they'd try to tell you if they found something concerning sooner rather than later. Why don't you call the provider's office who ordered it and ask about when you should hear something? Maybe they could give you a better understanding of the timing from your specific imaging center. ((Hugs)) waiting sucks

I had an MRI after they found cancer in my left breast. The MRI discovered a 1 cm lesion in my right breast that wasn't visible on mammogram. The did NOT tell me right away. I had the MRI on a Friday morning and received the news that I needed a biopsy the next Tuesday.

Yeah depends on how the center handles test results. Sometimes you get a radiologist talk with you on the spot, or the radiologist calls you later, or send results out to the ordering MD who then contacts you somehow. I've had it happen multiple ways. Call the center where you had the MRI done and ask them about procedures if you want to know.

Most often the radiologist will not tell you what he/she finds. He will communicate with your doc who ordered the test. That's who you need to call.
