Shadow on lung from CT

Options

Hi

Has anyone experienced this after a CT scan. I am very scared and dreading the worse. The shadow is 29mm and was only flagged up because I have an upper extremity DVT. In my case I am looking a weeks and weeks of waiting for an answer. They want a biopsy but the clot will have to be dealt with first.

If anyone has experience of CT shadow scares I would be grateful for some input. In the meantime I just want to say how truly awful this fear is. Being able to share your feelings on this forum does help though.

Jackboo - I think you got great responses from Crissy on the Stage 4 question thread. Can't remember since this is another thread, do you have an appointment schedule with your doc to discuss this?

Sorry you have to wait so long for an answer. It seems a lot of people have scares with lung nodules, and most are benign, but a biopsy is the only way to know. And waiting is hte worst. Keep us posted.

JackBoo, it is so worrisome to be told about an irregularity. Several years ago they found both scarring & shadowing in both lungs, which had been attributed to several bouts of pneumonia. After an auto accident I had suffered pulmonary embolism & leg DVT(no thanks to Tamoxifen). CT chest scan comparison with older chest xrays showed little to no change, except residual pneumonia scattered scarring. Hoping your situation turns out well for you. Hugs and well wishes!

    Hi to everyone

Several lovely people have posted- thank you sincerely. I have now heard that the biopsy will go ahead very soon. I am dealing with a DVT ( currently heavy bleeding with period) as well as this anxiety. Double whammy! I can't help but worry over the size of this nodule. 29 mm. BC nurse did say that she had known nodes of this size to be non cancerous but I will only know when results from lab are in. I am praying that my bad chest at end of Jan is to blame and that Tamoxifen has caused the DVT. My endometrium lining is thickened and was flagged as a separate concern from the CT. There are multiple things going on here unfortunately. So very scared about facing chemo again, I am trying to take it one day at a time but it's not easy.
