Hello All,

This is my first time posting on this site. The posts on this site are extremely valuable and empowering! I found out I was BRCA 2+ in 2015. My mom urged me to get tested due to a strong family history. My mom, her sister and mother had breast cancer. After witnessing my mom fight the disease, I knew it was not something to take lightly. I've been fortunate enough to nurse my sons, now ages 2 & 5. I'm ready to have bilateral prophylactic mastectomy to reduce my risks. I'm struggling with anxiety regarding the appearance. I have DD breasts and was told by the surgeon I'd have to lose my nipples. Has anyone had a breast lift BEFORE mastectomy in order to keep your nipples? Also, is it possible to achieve the same breast size with bilateral DIEP flap? I'd love a D but doctor said only a small C if I'm lucky. I'm about 60 pounds over my ideal weight so I was caught off guard with that. I haven't been a C since middle school. I'm also concerned about implants, so I have some major decisions to make. Please help
