breast cancer again!
Hi all!
I had breast cancer in 2011 and my left breast was removed. I had no quimio no radiotherapy. Instead I am on tamoxifen for about 6 years now.
Last year the found a nodule in my right breast but they said it seems good, no need for a biopsy, just to watch it on february with an ecotomography. I did that exame some weeks ago. The found a nodule in my left "breast" (it was reconstruted). They suggested a biopsy.
Result= carcinoma in situ. The same that I had in 2011. I have'nt visited my physician yet, because I have to wait for the radiology report and have an appointment with my doc next friday.
But I'm dissapointed. I removed my breast and now I have a nodule that has cancer? I was on medicin for years. Nothing worked. Why? It makes me feel dissapointed and angry, I don't belive in traditional medicine... anyway I will see my doc. It's just that I think that laboratories gain their money with our sickness and don't work. So I would like to have an alternative medicine as well.
Any insight is welcome. Thanks for reading.

Hi Dani:
I am so sorry for your diagnosis and you are facing this again. I too was diagnosed with breast cancer again in my other breast after having been clear for 13 years. And the first thought I had was, I am NOT going through all that treatment again. Last time I had a mastectomy, chemo, radiation and tamoxifen and aromasin. I also had my uterus and ovaries out. I also thought the treatment does not work. And I felt devastated.
The good news for you is it sounds like it was caught in a very early stage, even though it is still so difficult to face.
One foot in front of the other, one day or hour or minute at a time.
Keep us posted as you navigate what is next.

I'm sorry, Dani! I also was diagnosed again, 8 years after my mastectomy, chemo, Tamoxifen for 6.5 years. I have a genetic mutation (BRCA 2). Have you been checked for that?
Probably you will have more tests this time (bone scan, CT exam, MRI) to make sure there is no cancer anywhere else in your body. Once that is completed, you will probably have surgery to remove the cancer, and you may have to do radiation therapy. This is what happened to me. I'm over halfway finished with my radiation. It's such a shock to be diagnosed again, but you'll get through it. Talk with your doctor and maybe get the genetic test to see if there's anything else you can do to lower your chances of more cancer.
Keep us updated!
