33 years old/31 weeks pregnant solid mass, U/S pics inside
Hello everyone,
This is my first time posting here so I apologize in advance for any newbie mistakes I am making, and please know I am simply terrified or else I would spend much more time around the boards before posting.
I am 33 years old, no family history of breast cancer and am 31 weeks pregnant with my fourth baby. About 3 weeks ago, my husband found this lump but I dismissed it as a clogged duct or swollen gland and forgot about it. On Saturday we felt it again and he said it was larger than when he originally felt it and something just came over me and I realized this was incredibly serious. That day I went to the hospital and had an ultrasound done, then this Monday I had another ultrasound, mammogram and a core needle biopsy done. I am still awaiting those results. I spend all of my time trying to see what my images look like compared to other breast ultrasounds, both benign and malignant but it doesn't look like anything I am seeing (it has an echnogenic capsule but otherwise does not look like a fibroadenoma, for example). That is why I am posting here. I'm desperate for more information and will take any opinions or thoughts you may have. Thank you so, so much for your time.

Hi Kamden-
We know the waiting is hard! Our advice is to refrain from comparing your images to those you find online; diagnostic medicine is a very detailed science, and many times, masses aren't diagnosed as benign or malignant until a biopsy. Images can be misleading and/or unclear. We're not medical professionals, and neither are our members, so we would be remiss to offer advice or opinions on what your images may show.
We hope you get your results soon, and that you can put this behind you and focus on getting through the rest of your pregnancy. Please keep us posted!

I remember with my first diagnosis I didn't know what was going on half the time. I guess I was in shock, I didn't see any results, I didn't even know what questions to ask. I wish there was an answer for you, but until the pathology report is made, there is no way to tell. I am waiting for my biopsy results, I watched the ultrasound biopsy very closely, I asked questions as the radiologist did the biopsy, he described everything as it happened and after all that, we will not know until the pathologist makes his reports. My ill-defined area looked very similar and I have been told it could be fat necrosis or scar tissue and that only a very low percentage of lumps or suspicious areas turn out to be malignant. Good luck to you,I am hoping for benign outcomes for us both.

Hey there, I'm not a radiologist or anything but I do remember one saying that with ultrasound things with smooth and defined edges tend to be benign (fibro, cyst etc..) and more sinister things like cancer tend to have undefined edges and shadowy. I was dx at 34 years and you couldn't even see it on mammo, but on ultrasound it was a big dark shadow with poorly defined edges (not like your pics) Hopefully it's benign and all Is well😀

Sorry, I'm not an expert either! But my lump lit up on the mammo like a supersonic nova. Waiting is the worst. Hoping for B9 results for you and your family!! ((hugs))

We here are not, or at least 99.9% of us, medical doctors. Even those who are, would not give medical advise on the Internet, without risking ethics violation charges. Best not to post your private, medical pictures and scans on the Internet. Just saying.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I know the wait is awful and it is natural to look for answers anywhere you can find to make the stress ease. I hope the wait for results is quick and wishing B9 results for you!!

I'm so sorry you're waiting right now. As others have said we can't diagnose you - not even a radiologist would give a definitive diagnosis without a biopsy. Please update us when you find out.
